The YMCA 'B' team travelled to Torpoint at full strength for
their Division
5 match in December. This is always a tricky fixture for the YMCA and you never
know what ferry you'll be catching back to Devon.
Rob Loader and Pete Shaddock got the YMCA men off to a winning start and
this was carried on by Lyn and Vicki for the ladies.
The next men's match was very tight with the Torpoint men (Mike and Ian)
winning the first game 15-13. Rob and Andy Jacobs responding by taking the
second and third game 15-13 15-13. Peter and Andy made it 3 out of 3 of the YMCA
in the final men's matches.
The Torpoint ladies got their first point of the evening by beating Lyn and
Yetti but then Yetti and Vicki won their final ladies doubles match.
The first mixed match went to 3 games. After winning the first game to 3,
Torpoint won the second game to 6 aces. The YMCA pairing of Lyn and Rob
secured victory with a 15-8 win.
Pete and Yetti could find no job against Chris and Lynne from Torpoint and
lost game 2, game O.
Andy and Vicki went on to win the final match of the evening to make the
score 7-2 to the YMCA 'B' team.
A good evenings work for the team which keeps them high up the league table.
