The YMCA Kitto 'C' team
gave an away league debut to 14 year old Elizabeth
Nicholson in their division 5 match against Callington
'C'.
The YMCA men, Steve Rowe and Paul Carter, got off to a flying start winning
their first game 15-6. Callington stormed back to win the second game 15-7
but the YMCA produced another good performance to win the third game 15-7.
The other 2 men's game were also won by the away side.
Sue and Hannah from Callington got the home team back on track by beating
Patricia Haley and Angie Regan and then Elizabeth and Patricia won their ladies
match to put the YMCA team into a 4-1 lead on the night.
The Callington team seemed to click into gear and won the next ladies match and
the first mixed pairing. Darren Bowden and Angie did temporally stop the
slide by winning 15-9 but then lost 15-7 15-8.
The match was now poised at 4-4 when Steve and Elizabeth took to the court.
The YMCA pairing won the first game 15-11 and confidently took the second game
15-3 to secure victory for the team.
