Torpoint were the final
visitors to the Kitto Centre in the Division 5 match
played on the 22nd March 2003.
The YMCA B team needed to win well to
secure promotion and Rob Loader and Pete Shaddock got the team off to a good
start with a 15-12 15-10 win.
Rob and Andy Jacobs for the YMCA carried on the winning ways and then Pete and
Andy made it 3 out of 3 against Mike Weeks and Chris Still.
Unfortunately the Torpoint team were a lady short so had to conceed 3
matches.
Lyn Harris and Vikki Shelmerdine had the grit between their teeth and
produced an good performance by winning 15-2 15-1.
In the mixed matches, Vikki and Rob won their game 15-6 15-12.
It was left to Lyn and Andy to get the final point of the season which they
did at ease with a 15-8 and 15-9 victory.
So the team just beat Devonshire to the top of the table and secured
promotion with a 9-0 win.
