Aces Shared but Callington win on Matches!

The YMCA 'A' team suffered their first defeat of the season at home to Callington in a very competitive match.

James Travis and Geoffrey Harris got the YMCA off to a good start against Mike Kingscombe and Ryan Dover. With the match poised at one game all, the YMCA men won the final game 15-7.

The Callington men took the next match to 3 games and won the final match 17-15. The YMCA men won the third match in two games.

The Callington ladies proved to be strong opposition winning the first two matches comfortably. In the third match, the YMCA ladies, Melanie and Waine, put up strong resistance but unfortunately lost the third game 15-13.

With the team 4-2 down with the mixed doubles to play, the YMCA pairings knew they had to grind out a result. Ryan and Waine and Lyndsey and James both won their matches leaving just one match to be decided.

Melanie Francis and Geoffrey Harris won the first game 15-12, and the Callington pairing tool the second game 17-15 and won the third game to 9.

The final score: YMCA 4, Callington 5. The number of aces totalled 264 for both teams.

A good evening enjoyed by all.
