Nifty Net play from Caroline makes her Birthday Celebrations last longer!

Torpoint 'B' were the latest visitors to the YMCA Kitto Centre in a Division 5 match.

The YMCA took the first matches comfortably as Torpoint struggled to come to terms with the sports hall.

Ken Pratt and Chris Still (Torpoint) were unlucky to lose 15-17 to Paul Carter and Peter Ferrall (YMCA) in the first match and then the YMCA men took the second match 15-5.  Steve Rowe and Peter Ferrall made it 3 games out of 3 for the home side.

For the YMCA ladies, Caroline Debnam made her league debut.  Caroline had celebrated her 17th birthday the day before and clearly wanted to do well.  With some nifty net play, Caroline and Jayne won their first match 15-3 15-12.

Patricia Hayley and Jayne Vickery comfortably won their game 15-2 15-3 but the Torpoint ladies fought back to win 15-7 15-7 against Patricia and Caroline.

Torpoint had now adjusted to the conditions and were stiff opposition in the mixed doubles.  Steve and Jayne held their nerve to win 15-13 15-13 and Peter and Patricia also won 15-11 15-9.

The final mixed match saw Paul Carter and Caroline Debnam together and the YMCA pairing won 15-11 15-11.

The final score : YMCA Kitto 'C' 8, Torpoint 'B' 1
