The YMCA Kitto A team
started off their season with a home match against
Mayflower Wednesday.
Marcus Dover and Andy Crocker got the visitors off to a great start and won
their first games 15-12 15-10.
Ryan Lambourne and Pete Shaddock then went on court and were easily
defeated in the first game by 15-5. Suddenly the YMCA pairing found their
form and won the second game 15-4 and the deciding match 15-12.
James Travis and Pete then won the third men's game which proved important as
the YMCA ladies lost 2 of the 3 games. The only win was for Waine Parker
and Lyndsey Kendrick.
In the mixed matches, Ryan and Waine were taken to 3 games but eventually won
13-15 15-9 15-8. James and Melanie had a comfortable win and Pete/Lyndsey
played 3 games and were the eventual winners 6-15 15-1 15-3.

The YMCA Kitto B team were also home to Derriford
and in a very close first game, the
YMCA pairing of Andy Jacobs and Steve Rowe won 15-12 10-15 17-16. The
second men's match also went to 3 games and again the YMCA pairing of
Andy and Paul Carter won and then Steve and Paul took the 3rd game.
Unfortunately Derriford were unable to provide a 3rd lady and had to conceed
some matches although 1 match was won after Marilyn and Gill beat the YMCA
pairing of Vicky and Yetty 9-15 15-8 15-11.
Andy and Lyn Harris for the YMCA won the first mixed match with Steve and
Vicky for the YMCA winning the second mixed doubles, 15-8 13-15 and
15-8.
