Men’s League B Division, 27/10/03, Builders DML 4, Mayflower Wednesday 8.
Mayflower Wednesday opened their Men’s League B Division campaign with an encouraging 8-4 victory at Builders DML. Wednesday soon adapted to the Whiteford Road courts, and unfamiliar feathers, in a keenly contested match. Dave Atkins, for many years a Builders stalwart, was Wednesday’s secret weapon as he came back to haunt his former colleagues. He used all his Whiteford Road experience to finish the match undefeated.
