The YMCA C team started off their season
with a tough match against the
University.
The YMCA team had 3 new players making their league debuts. The two teenagers, Sam Yeun and Tom Debnam played well but inexperience showed
as well
as the difficulty of adapting to the feather shuttles.
For the ladies, it was good to have Jayne Vickery back in the team. The C
team ladies are also strengthened this season with the arrival of Sarah Carrington and she gave an impressive debut winning both of her ladies
matches. Patricia Haley also performed well.
In the mixed matches, Paul Carter and Jayne Vickery beat Brian and Linzi in
the first match 15-8. The University pairing won the second match 15-8 and
the third game went to the YMCA 15-10.
The University mixed pairings proved to strong for Tom and Sarah and Sam and
Patricia.
The final score: University 5 YMCA Kitto C 4
